Generally speaking, we buy clean copies
of interesting books on almost every subject.
We do not buy Readers’ Digest
books, newspapers, most text books, computer books (they change
too fast), or new magazines (we do buy some old magazines).
Keep in mind that we are a cooperative
of 15 different dealers, each with different
book specialties and interests. Likewise, we all work
behind the desk at one time or another during any given month.
If you want to sell books, therefore, you would do well to
bring them in when the dealer that buys your type of books
is here. We recommend that you call or come in to inquire
as to the best time to bring in your books.

| Unfortunately,
we can’t permit our customers to leave books on the premises
until the appropriate dealers arrive, or we would be swimming
in books. You can either bring the books into the store, or
leave them in your parked vehicle and we will come out and take
a look. If you’re looking to sell a large collection, we
may be able to come to your home or other location to see the
books. Some of our dealers buy maps, pamphlets, autographs,
manuscripts and other printed paper material.
Generally speaking, we pay a wholesale
price, which allows us to keep the material on our shelves
(perhaps for a long time) and still sell to the public at
affordable and attractive prices.
One of our dealers, TOMES,
does take books in trade as well as paying cash. All others
pay cash.
